Starting next month, Square Enix will start charging for Final Fantasy XIV. The game was free to play since launch because of the massive technical and gameplay issues it was released with. The fee will be about $12.60 a month (A little less than regular MMO subscriptions). Next year, Square Enix plans to release version 2.0 of FFXIV, which will revamp the game even further. The PlayStation 3 version still hasn't been released.
