Here is the Gamespot Game of the Year review. They decided on the Game of the Year by looking back on 2011 and trying to determine which game will define the year, and they are right.

There is just no other game that has even come close to what Skyrim accomplished. Of course there are still bugs in the game, but once Bethesda patches them up, Skyrim will truly deserve Game of the Year 2011.
