Uncharted PS4 Development Unaffected by Lead Writer's Departure

Sony has assured fans that development of the new Uncharted for PS4 will be unaffected by the recent departure of Uncharted writer Amy Hennig from Naughty Dog.

"We can confirm that Amy Hennig has left Naughty Dog," Sony said in a statement. "Amy has made significant contributions to the game industry and we appreciate all she has done for Naughty Dog. The development timeline of Uncharted will not be impacted."

Prior, Hennig had spent 10 years with Naughty Dog, and served as director and writer on Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Theives and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.

Although rumors have been going around that Hennig was "forced out" by The Last of Us Neil Druckmann, a recent tweet from Hennig has confirmed that this is not the case:

The latest Uncharted for PS4 was teased back in November, 2013, and the full reveal of the game will be sometime this year. Naughty Dog's community Strategist, Eric Monacelli recently announced that development for the game has just started.
