There is a rumor stemming from a few box shots sent in to Joystiq of what appears to be the third installment in the F.E.A.R. series. Instead of reading F.E.A.R. 3, the box reads F.3.A.R.

The Box shots also turned up on a gaming forum called neoGAF as a shot from a Spanish Magazine, with the words "proximo numero". (Which means "next issue" or "next number").

When Joystiq contacted publisher Warner Bros. Interactive to comment on this, they were told by a representative "we have no info to share at this time."

So as you can see this could go either way, either this information was dropped for marketing, and to get the hype started for F.E.A.R. 3, or it could just be a rumor started on the internet.

As soon as any more information about F.E.A.R. 3 or F.3.A.R. gets discovered, it will be posted.
