Minecraft Mod: Rei's Minimap

Minecraft Reis Minimap Mod
Rei's Minimap has been updated for Minecraft 1.5.2. In my opinion, this mod enhances Minecraft more than any other mod, and I don't understand why it is not part of the official release. Also I think this minimap mod is by far the most advanced for Minecraft.

Map out the areas around your creations, find the last place you died, create waypoints between your creations, check which biomes are around you, never get lost again, cave mapping, and a lot more, this minimap mod does it all! And the best part is there is pretty much no FPS loss when using it, and even if you do get an fps drop, there are options like dynamic light which you can toggle which will increase your FPS.

Full Features List:

Fast processing
Beautiful map rendering:
  • Expression of semitransparent blocks
  • Bump-map expression of height
  • Expression of dynamically changing lighting
  • Automatically generate the block colors from your texturepack
  • Biome color

Entities radar
Cave mapping
Waypoints (Can not teleport)
Ingame keyconfig
ZanMinimap frame appearance
Indication of slime spawning chunks

Q - So normally this mod works fine, but one day my map disappeared from my screen. I'm 100% sure I installed this mod right. What now?
A - Go to the in-game menu (default M key) and re-enable the "Rei's Minimap" option.

Q - Can I convert my Zan's/CJB's waypoints to Rei's minimap?
A - Yes, but you have to do it manually, by writing down the coords of the waypoints and adding them in the rei_minimap waypoints config.

Q - Is this mod compatible with Improved Chat? Because I got a blackscreen..
A - Yes, it actually is. The overriding abj.class is not necessary when you run this mod via ModLoader. Override problem solved, and it works like a charm.

Q - And is this mod compatible with Coron's Move Plus? Because I got a blackscreen here too..
A - Yes, if you run it via ModLoader and let Move Plus load first. Load after that the Minimap, and it should work!

Q - Err.. What is a "Guinea Pig version"?
A - It's a minimap test version for the next Minecraft version, meaning the mod can be instable and/or misses several features which are normally there. Doesn't mean it's always the case.

Q - The map seems to be blurry when I zoom in. How so?
A - This can be disabled in the menu, the "Filtering" option. Disabling it will take slighty more memory and will make the map look a bit low-pixeled when you zoom out again.

Q - Actually, what makes this minimap so different from all others?
A - Terrain undulation, Biome colour display, water transparancy, 1.8 lighting engine implemention, slime spawn chunk higlighting, lots of customization, fast updating to newer version, incredibly advanced viewing options, no FPS or performance drop. NEW: Chunk grid, entity radar & cavemapping.

Q - Can I edit the colours on the minimap so it looks better with my texture pack?
A - This is done automatically. No need for any modding/editing, just switch in-game to the texture pack and you're good to go.

Q - Can I edit the colours on the minimap so it works with another mod which adds items?
A - Nope, the colour editing function got removed. Possibly there will be a way to display custom blocks on the map in the future.

Q - Can I disable certain blocks on the map, for example trees?
A - No, Rei is not planning to implement it yet. He'll see what the future brings.

Q - Help, <your question>?
A - Post your question in this thread please.

Q - I posted a question, but got no reply?
A - This means one of these three things happened:
- Your question is too obvious and unnecessary to answer;
- The question is not understood;
- We missed your question. Sorry if it happened to you.

Q - Could I have the source code?
A - Nope.

Q - Uhm, why aren't you ReiFNSK? He made the mod right?
A - He does not fully master the fluently typing and reading of the English language yet, so I try to be as helpful as possible to all people in need of help with this amazing mod. I wrote this with permission of the mod owner, of course. (It's linked from the OP, duh :3)

[Old; for v2.1 or lower] Q - Can I use custom colours for this minimap?
A - Yes, in \.minecraft\mods\rei_minimap\blockolor.txt, it's not a very easy job though.

How to enable cave mapping:

Cave mapping and entities radar of the SMP is disabled by default.

When the server owner (using bukkitplugin/other) sets the key word to motd(login message), they become effective.

Please set the keyword to motd referring to the following.

&0&0: prefix
&e&f: suffix
&1: cave mapping
&2: entities radar (player)
&3: entities radar (animal)
&4: entities radar (mob)
&5: entities radar (slime)
&6: entities radar (squid)
&7: entities radar (other living)

Examples:

All enable.
&0&0&1&2&3&4&5&6&7&e&f

Cavemap enable.
&0&0&1&e&f

Cavemap and EntitiesRadar(player,animal,slime) enable.
&0&0&1&2&3&5&e&f

("&" marks color codes. If your server uses a wrapper with different codes then use this for reference).

If you know any (in)compatible mods or if you see a mod in the wrong list, please say so!
