According to todays Nintendo Direct Presentation, Iwata has stated that Earthbound will be out on the Wii U virtual console by the end of the year. Satoru Iwata said he decided on this due to fan feedback after they announced Earthbound (known as Mother 2 in Japan) would come to Japan’s virtual console service but not North America.
