Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is the sequel to Final Fantasy XIII-2, and concludes the story arc that began in Final Fantasy XIII. The game features Lightning waking from crystal stasis after five hundred years to save the world from destruction. She is aided by Hope Estheim via wireless communacation and must confront and fight several of her former allies.
