Twitch has managed to set up a massively multiplayer online co-op version of the original Pokemon games and it is currently being watched and played by over 16,000 people.

The channel is Twitch Plays Pokemon, the game takes commands written in the chat, and users can type any command they want. Somehow, they have made it to SS Anne despite all the chaos of commands being constantly spammed in the chat.

This is a very interesting project that is powered by Javascript and Python code, as well as the Game Boy VisualBoyAdvance emulator. The game will continue to run 24/7 and the creator says he would "like to see the Elite Four beaten" but has doubts about it being possible without better coordination.
