In a recent interview with IGN, Turtle Rock Studios' Creative Director Phil Robb stated that all the DLC maps for Evolve will be available for free of charge. The reason? So players won't be booted just because they didn't pay for DLC.
"First thing we [Evolve's creative leads] said was we can't break the community up, so all of our maps will be free. We never want anyone to get booted off of a server because they haven't bought something."
DLC will include new maps, monsters and hunters, and players who don't purchase the DLC will still be able to fight alongside the new content."We'll have characters and monsters, and even if you don't buy them, if your buddy wants to buy the DLC, that's cool, and your game will be enhanced through his purchase," Robb said. "So, you won't be able to play as those characters, but you will certainly be able to play with those characters."
In Evolve, four players team up against another player who controls a monster. It is scheduled to launch for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on February 10, 2015.
