Star Wars Battlefront Getting Offline Mode

Star Wars Battlefront Getting Offline Mode

DICE has announced a new offline mode heading to Star Wars Battlefront next week, with the Death Star expansion on its way as well. The new offline "Skirmish" mode will be available starting July 21.

It will offer those who prefer to play or practice offline against bots in a solo mission, or with a friend using co-op. Consoles will also get a co-op split screen mode.

Lead designer Dennis Brannvall stated the offline mode will include two difficulty options available for Walker Assault and Fighter Squadron. "With multiple locations that span the galaxy, from the frozen planet of Hoth to the lava encrusted planet of Sullust, we hope Skirmish brings players a new way to enjoy Star Wars Battlefront", Brannvall noted.

DICE will also hold more free in-game events and additional contracts offering new weapons and log-in reward opportunities this summer. Open trials to check out the Bespin content will also be included.

Those who purchased the season pass will get access to the upcoming Death Star expansion in September. The expansion adds new weapons, ground and space maps, Star Cards and two new heroes. More information will be available about the Death Star expansion during EA's Star Wars Panel livestream July 16 at 11 AM PDT found at the Star Wars Celebration website.
