Take-Two is getting a lot of flak for shutting down the popular GTA 4 / GTA 5 modding program "OPEN IV". But they are also shutting down other modding and hacking related programs that allowed people to ruin others experience in GTA Online.

Today it was announced that Take-Two has taken down Force Hax, The Lexicon and Menyoo mod menus. These were all used to give people insane amounts of money online, and do many other things that basically ruined the gameplay for others.

It looks like Take-Two is on a warpath to get rid of hacking in GTA Online all together. I just find it strange that while the shutting down of OPEN IV was given so much attention and outrage by the gaming community, the shutting down of these other programs that were the root cause of the rampant cheating that people were doing online is largely being ignored.

Maybe, just maybe, a lot of the people who are outraged about Take-Twos recent actions, were actually hacking online themselves? I know this is a bold claim to make, but it makes sense. Don't get me wrong, I understand a lot of people just want to mod their single player experience, and I see nothing wrong with that.

I've seee claims that Open IV doesn't allow you to go online, and yet Rockstar & Take-Two have claimed that Open IV was shut down to fight online hacking. So how do I know who to trust? All I know is at least they are doing something to combat the incredible amount of hackers in GTA Online.

“Take-Two's actions were not specifically targeting single player mods. Unfortunately OpenIV enables recent malicious mods that allow harassment of players and interfere with the GTA Online experience for everybody. We are working to figure out how we can continue to support the creative community without negatively impacting our players.'

It's just nice to be able to play GTA Online again without people trying to ruin my game in every lobby I join! I've had GTA 5 since 2013, and almost every time I go online I encounter people who are there just to ruin other peoples fun.

Hopefully they will get rid of every single cheat/program that people use to ruin GTA Online.
