GamersFirst announced that APB will be joining steam. The open-world third-person shooter where you fight for control over the fictional world of San Paro was originally released on June 29, 2010.

On Sept 16, 2010 Realtime Worlds announced that APB servers would be shut down with no specific date given.

On November 11 2010 the online games company, K2 Network, purchased APB for $1.5 million. The game relaunched as free to play during early 2011 and renamed APB.
