"Simply brilliant."

Game: Another jaunt through the Super Mario Galaxy 2 engine, with all the standard accoutrements.< Play Time: 12 hours for the main plot, 50 for full completion.

Good: Brilliant level design, incredible variety, great beginner-expert balance, and numerous other excellent features.

Bad: Uninspired power-ups, the removal of the World Map diminishes the game's feel.
Verdict: One of the best games released in recent years, for any console.
Rating: 8.5/10
Recommendation: Buy it. Beginner or expert, Mario fan or not, buy it.

I was accused once of ragging on Wii games pretty hard. There's some logic to that accusation: I've given many high-rated Wii games very low scores, and although it's hard to really call that a vendetta against the Wii without a broader standard of comparison in other consoles, I'll readily admit that I think I cut Wii games (and games in general) less slack than other reviewers.

You are looking at Nintendos new inflatable Wii Mario Kart. This $40 device has a steering wheel which allows you to attach the Wii remote to play any Wii racing game, including Mario Kart Wii.

Here are some Call of Duty: Black Ops screenshots recently released. Black Ops will be set during the Cold War in the 1960s-70s and has been been in development for two years.

Blizzard has announced that the Starcraft 2 beta will be extended to June 7. Originally it was supposed to end this upcoming Monday, this gives players an extra week to play the beta.

Impulse is having a Memorial day sale this weekend with Sins of a Solar Empire priced at $4. The game is a masterpiece and at $4 any fan of RTS should make sure to pick it up. Also on sale is the Mass Effect bundle for $42. Lastly the Dragon Age: Origins bundle which includes the original game and the Awakening expansion is priced at $48. Killzone 3 was shown for the first time at an event in San Francisco.

Guerrilla Games stated that they were inspired by other releases such as God of War 3 and Uncharted 2. Mentioned were detailed planned improvements across the board. Improvements in environments, vehicles, weapons and enemies were all mentioned. Also promised were more epic and unique monsters. Last but not least, they pointed out the amazing fact that the first three minutes of the Killzone 3 demo featured more cinematics and scripted events than the entire first level of Killzone 2!


A Killzone 3 release date has been announced yet but more information will be posted as it is released.

Need For Speed World will be released July 20. The racing MMORPG developed by EA Black Box has been in closed beta for some time. The game will be released as a free client which will let you advance to driver level 10 where it will ask you to purchase a "Starter pack" to advance further. You can still play the game without purchasing the "Starter pack" but you will not be able to earn new power-ups and vehicles.

The starer pack will start at $19.99 which allows for the player to level up to 50. It also includes an exclusive car, the ability to play Need For Speed World a week early, beta access, and special power-ups.

"This Isn't Mario kart. It's better!"

Remember five or so years ago. When Mario Kart was the only decent kart racer available and no other kart racer was worth playing. Well, that's all changed now, thanks to United Front Games attempt at the next Play, Create, Share game.

Gameplay - 10/10
The gameplay is pretty much perfect! The driving feels right and doesn't feel too loose or stiff, it finds that spot in the middle that just screams 'PERFECT!'. Unlike most racing games, you can set a speed class for your race which means whether you want a super fast race or a slow cruise you can change the settings right before the race. The Computer controlled opponents can get annoying due to the fact that they always seem to be right on your trail, but anyone with enough skill can still win if they have patience.

Angels Fall First: Planetstorm is an online multiplayer total conversion mod of Epic Games' first-person shooter Unreal Tournament 3.

This demo contains two reworked maps covering both space and ground combat, plus all the hardware from battleships, tanks and railguns to autoturrets, cloaking suits and incendiary grenades. The demo has both offline bot support and online multiplayer capability.

"Oh no, I suddenly feel very ill! (Psst... I'm gonna call in sick and witness a bit of gaming history!)"

Introduction
I apologize for the bad attempt to have a witty tagline for my review, now before I begin the actual review I just want you to know that I didn't get mighty impressed by Rockstar's previous big title: Grand Theft Auto IV. After the initial shock it was all back to the dated games we played to death on our PS2/PSP. It had some fun moments but overall it felt like a step backwards with its awkward controls and design choices and it didn't deliver enough to justify the massive hype and expectations. It was a good game at best but the ratings it got from professional reviews was um... not what I would've given the game.

For this reason I was worried that Red Dead Redemption is also gonna be a letdown... The good news is that the feeling of that anxiety got blown away after just 15-20 minutes of gameplay.

Many folks mistakenly believe that RDR is just a GTA-game set in the Wild West. Let me state the facts: it isn't. If it was then I wouldn't give it a high rating, remember my GTAIV rundown moments ago? There are many gameplay elements in RDR that makes it very different from GTAIV. The hunting, bounties, treasures, transportation, gambling and various challenges make it a unique and fresh experience. Also the story moves on very differently from typical GTA games. First of all you don't play as a criminal trying to advance to the top of the crime hierarchy. And you certainly don't always get jobs or assignments from criminals. The only minor similarity it has from GTAIV is some map interface and transportation tools to easily pinpoint missions and shortcuts. It's more than just a brainless open sandbox game.

You play as John Marston, a badass and utterly fearless former outlaw who despite his intimidating looks is very civilized, wise and gentle-man like. He has a dark past which he tries to distant himself from and he is out to straighten his life out, he wishes no one ill or harm. But push him enough and he will not hesitate to show you that he still got "it". The protagonist is very likable and seem very mature. As you progress more in the game you will like him more because of his knight-like chivalry. He got all the characteristics for a great protagonist: humor, courage, sharp-tongued and a likable personality. I can't think of a better protagonist for game set in a Wild West saga, never once in the game did I grow bored of him or felt he being ridiculous or "lacking". He is simply the man.

According to Reuters, Sony Pictures Animation is developing a live-action/CGI hybrid Roller Coaster Tycoon movie. How exactly is that going to work? A movie about Roller Coasters? The film executive producer will is Harald Zwart, the same director of the upcoming Karate Kid remake. The question is how do you make a Roller Coaster Tycoon movie when the games don't have any plot. To say the least, it will be interesting to see what they come up with.
