Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim New Information

Here is some new information about Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim from the French edition of the Playstation Magazine:

- Unique weapons will have concealed effects that you will only discover upon using the weapon.

- Players will be not able to block attacks if they are wielding a weapon in one hand and a spell in the other. Only players who wield two handed weapons or a sword and shield can perform blocks.

- It is possible to cut dialogue short by simply walking away from a speaking NPC.

- Dragon Shouts are assigned to the R3 button on the PS3 gamepad.

- The "Spell Shield" ability will see a return in "Skyrim."

- Taverns will serve as important locations in the game. Players will be capable of overhearing conversations, collect rumors, begin quests, acquire information and much more.

- Players can stalk non-player characters and chart their routines, and break and enter into their homes when they aren't around.

- "Skyrim" will see the inclusion of new area-of-effect spells such as "Ice Trap," which is triggered when an enemy walks over it; "Circle of Protection," an area-of-effect spell which pushes enemies in your vicinity away; and "Fury" which causes enemies to fight amongst themselves.

- With a strong focus on melee combat, "Skyrim" will feature the inclusion of finishing moves, one of which has been described as "plunging your sword into the enemy's chest."

- As a game that's more or less an open sandbox, players will be able to perform free-form activities like cooking, woodcutting, mining, and blacksmithing.

- The quest to Bleak Falls Barrow is provided to you by a shopkeeper named Lucan who wants you to retrieve his priceless Draconic family heirloom--a golden claw.

- Unlike the earlier games where melee combat were free-for-alls prone to friendly fire, "Skyrim" will feature a context-sensitive melee system described as "Magnetism" in the French PSN, where your melee attacks will automatically target foes instead of slashing everything in your path. This is somewhat similar to the autotargeting system in "Assassin's Creed Brotherhood."

- One of the new "Dragon Shout" abilities slows down time, and is similar to Bullet Time.

- One of the first cities the player visits is called Riverwood, and is decried as "a smattering of timber buildings, including a sawmill."

- The new "Radiant Story" feature of Skyrim--which generates side-quests based on player actions--is inspired by the random encounters in the Fallout series.

- "Skyrim" contains exhaustive environmental effects, such as the effects of wind on water and the creation of waves. The game will also contain meteorological effects, with clouds clustering around mountaintops and so forth.

- It will be possible to raise all skills to the maximum 100 points but it isn't possible to get every perk in a single playthrough.

- With regards to the story, the death of the King of Skyrim has triggered a civil war to break out in the country.

- Dragon encounters will not be scripted events. These Dragons may attack towns and cities during its travels, which may cause it to be set ablaze.

- A dungeon described as "Bleak Falls Barrow" is inhabited by Draugr--undead Nord warriors. Players can expect to encounter a ghostly dragon priest and fight a giant Frostbite Spider. The dungeon has been described by Bethesda as "terrifying."

- Every large settlement in the land of Skyrim will be unique. The city of Marketh Side is set into a cliffside, with buildings teetering on the edge. Haarfingar is said to be home to the largest trading port in Skyrim. One of the cities in Skyrim is even said to be heavily inspired by the Dunmer architecture of Morrowind.

- The information quest givers provide you will depend upon their disposition towards you. Friendly NPCs will provide you with more information while hostile or distrusting characters will provide you with a lot less.

- Bethesda intends to bring back a sense of eccentricity into the world of Vvardenfell, as each Nord faction will have its own customs and styles instead of being carbon copies.

- The overall economy of "Skyrim" will be better designed than the one in prior games. If you eliminate a city's means of income (for instance, by razing their vegetation), its residents will have to purchase crops from a nearby city, thereby raising prices.

- Archers will be able to hold their breath--an action which consumes stamina--while aiming in order to increase their accuracy. This ability is similar to the sniping abilities in games like Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and the Call of Duty series.

- Injured dragons have a chance of crashing into the ground.

- Most NPCs will not have a complete set of dialogue, with only "important" characters having significant dialogue.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 Tips

Marvel vs Capcom 3 Tips

Here are some Marvel vs Capcom 3 tips. If you would like to submit your own tips, post a comment below. Thank you for visiting and for your hint submissions!
  • Dante/Hulk/Amatersu Tips
Amaterasu, while proper utilization requires using all of his forms, can really own most of the time by just being in Fire form (the one you always start with). 6H can extend to like 3 more hits if you keep pressing H. H while in the air for an air combo can be used 3 times in succession. While these aren't the greatest tips, they alone are enough to be very annoying without knowing many advanced combos.

Hulk you really don't have to do much with. His Missions include some very easy and solid combos. At the same time, you can easily poop all over opponents by landing H and following up with either a special move, hyper combo, or S into an air combo. He gets zoned pretty easy so if you can manage at times, do Gamma Wave by charging 4 then 6 H so it extends quickly to the other side of the screen.

Dante you'll have to experiment with until you find what you like. His Missions will not help in that respect. But there are many different ways to be successful with him.
  • Practice Makes Perfect
Just keep practicing, if you cannot do one characters mission move on to another, by the time you get back you'd have had some more practice. I started mission mode on Saturday and have gone through everyone's, now I'm going back through them to finish one's I couldn't before.

It requires perserverance, video's will not help due to the fact they will only show the final result and not the work that went in to getting that result.
  • Tips for Getting Better
Practice your main's combos in training mode so that you can do them consistently. If you can't hit them most of the time, you need to go back to the drawing board. As for defense, there isn't much I can give tips about there. Defense is usually something that you learn through playing several matches against difficult high and low mixup characters. By going online, you're throwing yourself to the lions, but you will eventually learn what hits high and low, and how to block crossup attempts. If you can, go to training mode and practice attacks on a dummy and make them block. That way, you will know what attacks your opponent will use with that character and how to block it.

And most importantly, practice a patience game. Spammers like to feel in control by overwhelming people by throwing everything out there. If you rush in recklessly, it may or may not work. But if you take your time and set up a gameplan, it will do wonders at punishing them.
  • Some More Tips For Getting Better
1. Get yourself informed.

2. Familiarize yourself with all your characters' moves and the game mechanics by just playing the game.

3. Execution practice. Make sure you can do everything consistently. Specials. Combos. Practice it till you are 100% confident about your execution.

4. During a match, you should always be thinking. If someone is spamming, think of ways to get around it. Where are the openings? What options do your characters have?

5. Repeat steps 1-4.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 Achievement Guide

Marvel vs Capcom 3 Achievement Guide

Arcade or Xbox Live

"Average Joe" 10G - "Land a Viewtiful Combo"

A Viewtiful Combo is a 31+ hit combo. A really simple method of getting this one is to use a char which has a multi hit super and just accomplish it on a low difficulty< in arcade mode. Deadpool is an excellent choice for this as his down->downfoward->forward + attack + attack (QCF+any two attack buttons that isnt the launcher "S" default is right trigger on the xbox controller) will do his gun super which hits for 40ish.

"Charles in Charge" 30G
"Land an Uncanny Combo"

The Uncanny Combo is the 91+ hit combo. For this one, you will require 3 bars of
super, and also the trio I used was Deadpool, Dante, and Ryu. Set Dante up for his
Crystal assist, and Ryu for his Haduken. Now when you've got all 3 bars, you'll
want to do the Crossover Combination, which can be accomplished by either pressing and
holding both assist buttons down, or default on the xbox controller just
pressing the LT. You can actually set the arcade mode on the easiest setting, and
lowest possible damage so you can build up your meter first without risking
them dying too early. You should get about a 93-95 hit combo from this.

"Brusin' Bruce" 20G
"Land an Incredible Combo"

An Incredible Combo is a 61+ hit combo. Now obtaining this one could be slighty
tricky however the simplest way is to have two chars that have multi hitting
supers and chain them together. This time i would use Deadpool and have Dante
as your second. Use the same gun super with Deadpool in arcade, and when the
hit counter hits about 40, do the same command you did for it (QCF + two
attacks) as long as you have atleast 2 bars when you start, Dante should
replace Deadpool and do his gun super netting you easily over 60.

Dragon Age II DRM Information

Dragon Age II DRM Information

Bioware recently detailed the DRM policies for the PC version of Dragon Age II. The Steam version of Dragon Age II will only use Steam DRM and will not be implementing any third-party DRM or any other hidden methods.

However the stand-alone version will be a little more DRM heavy, requiring you to register an EA account when the game starts for the first time, and allowing 5 PCs to access the game within a 24-hour time period. The game also includes an offline mode which still requires you to sign-in online after a few days.

Here is the full overview of Dragon Age II DRM:

Non-Steam versions (digital or retail disc) DRM policies are as follows:

- No disc check, you do not need the disc in drive to play.

- No limit on the total number of PCs you can install and play the game on.

- You can play offline but the game will require a login check after a select period of days.

Release Control policies:

- It completely removes itself after the game release date has passed.

- There is a limit to the number of unique/different PCs that can start/play the game within a time window [5 PCs in 24hrs].

- Each install requires logging in to your EA account to verify game ownership and if you are a member of these forums, you have an EA account.

- It does not install anything to the PC.

- Sole purpose is to check with a server to validate whether the game release date has passed or not.

- You will not be able to play until that date has passed.

- Datess and times are set to the retail street date per country.
